Stained my deck for the first time. when we had it built 2 years ago the contractor sprayed it with some sealant and it looked terrible. So this year I stained it all by hand with nothing but a paintbrush and a cold beer. I'm so excited about how it looks.

I have used this big mossy branch for 2 reasons. The first, I think its a unique trellis for my rose bush, and second, it keeps me from getting to close when I mow or trim.

I have put new energy into my lawn this year. Instead of the usual weed n feed in the spring, I have spread lime and homemade compost. I cant wait to see if there is a difference. Already i noticed the grass is a darker green i have more dandelions than the first 10 years of living here. Dandelions don't really bother me, see, anything that blooms, I'm ok with it. Besides, once the centipede gets a little denser, it will choke out a lot of the weeds.

The Wine bottles are for no other reason than .... COLOR. I figure, until I have a garden exploding with blooms and natural color, they will provide a unique color and decoration to the yard. However, I have had some friends tell me that it looks like a wino here. I can assure you, I have not drank EVERY bottle in my garden. Some, maybe, but most are donations from my wino friends :)
I have so many plans for this corner. Big triangular raised bed with a lot of height and texture. But, for now, i have stained the swing and am using that for a focal point in this corner.

I love moss and ferns. So when this pagoda started growing a little green, I started to encourage it by keeping it misted whenever I'm watering my pretties.

In spring, the Bradford pear tree blooms. so pretty. However, my favorite part is when the wind blows, the petals ride the wind and they look like snowflakes. they cover everything in the immediate vicinity and, until they turn brown, look like snowflakes on the ground that aren't going to melt.

My tulips don't seem to be growing well, however, there are still other beauties to beam at.

This is the first time I've had hyacinths in my garden. planted them last fall and the fragrance is one of my favorites.

Ever since i mosaic ed this cement basket, it has been my absolute favorite project I've ever done. When i put my violas in it, the color is mesmerizing to me.

My Gracie baby. my bestest friend. she loves to be outside and get all dirty, just like me.
